Job summary

PACS Group seeks a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The cook reports to the Dietary Supervisor and works collaboratively with dietary staff.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen, preparing meals in large quantities, following menus and portion guides, and ensuring accurate preparation of special diets. ServSafe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Should have experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for not less than one year.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures.
• Prepare pureed foods.
• Cooperate with personnel in all departments.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
