Job summary

PACS in Tarpon Springs, FL is seeking a Cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The cook will prepare meals for residents, follow menus, and ensure safety and sanitation in a hospital/long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include recording food temperatures, assisting with serving, supervising in absence of supervisor, and maintaining cleanliness. Must have High School diploma, at least 1 year hospital/long-term care cooking experience, and a ServSafe certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Should have experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for not less than one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and recipes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures for meals and prepare pureed foods.
• Assist with serving the different meals and cooperate with staff.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses and participate in training of dietary staff.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor and ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
