Job summary

The Groves Center is seeking a qualified cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor within a hospital/long-term care setting. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities include recording temperatures, serving meals, training dietary staff, and maintaining clean cooking areas. Must obtain ServSafe certification and keep health standards valid.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a cook in hospital or long-term care facility for not less than one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures for meals.
• Prepare pureed foods when needed.
• Assist with serving meals and maintaining sanitation.
