Job summary

American Food & Vending is seeking a Lead Cook in St. Louis, MO. You will lead kitchen operations across designated stations, ensure quality grilling and presentation, and provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership, the ability to train teammates, and a strong commitment to food safety and excellence in dining experiences for guests across client sites.

Qualifications

• Lead kitchen experience or background in hospitality/food service.
• Basic knife skills are a plus.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn and take on additional roles.
• Dedicated to excellence in hospitality and delivering a great dining experience.
• Ability to cross train and utilize multiple skills.
• Safety and detail oriented.
• Requires lifting 50 lbs, bending, walking, climbing stairs, and standing for shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, support the team, and streamline dining services.
• Cook, grill and serve menu offerings at designated stations.
• Use stove top, flat top, open flame grill and other kitchen equipment.
• Transport pans and trays safely per standards.
• Prepare and serve foods per guest specifications.
• Store foods with proper wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures.
• Retain temperature logs and production records efficiently.
• Keep supplies replenished and take inventory as directed.
• Set up and breakdown stations, clean and sanitize equipment.
• Adhere to all state and local food production, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain focus on customer satisfaction and excellent service to guests and team members.
• Communicate professionally and clearly.
• Be efficient and organized.
• May operate POS and package to-go items.
• May be assigned other duties as needed.
