Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a dependable Part-Time Lead Cook for Cheboygan County Jail in Cheboygan, MI. The role combines cooking duties with a leadership position in a correctional kitchen, supporting inmates and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Starting pay is $21.00 per hour with benefits, and the job requires weekend/holiday availability and the ability to work 9:00 AM–6:00 PM. Training and long-term employment opportunities are included.

Qualifications

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

As a Lead Cook, you'll help keep the kitchen running smoothly while assisting with meal preparation and overseeing inmates working in the kitchen.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving meals according to company recipes and standards
• Assisting with food preparation, baking, and cooking while overseeing inmates
• Leading and supporting kitchen operations during assigned shifts
• Training, instructing, and assisting team members as needed
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen
• Following facility requirements and food safety procedures
• Helping ensure daily kitchen operations are completed efficiently

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

To be successful in this position, you'll need:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work effectively in a structured correctional environment
