Tigg's Canteen Services is currently hiring a dependable, motivated Lead Cook to join our team at the Benzie County Jail/Leelanau County Jail in Beulah and Suttons Bay, Michigan. This role involves leadership, following company recipes, and maintaining an orderly kitchen.

We offer starting pay of $20.00 per hour, 401K, medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and more. Ideal candidates are adaptable to a structured correctional environment and can train others.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As a Lead Cook, you will help oversee and participate in the daily kitchen operation. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and assisting inmates within the kitchen
• Preparing and cooking food according to company recipes
• Assisting with baking and food preparation
• Providing instruction and guidance to others when needed
• Helping maintain a clean, organized kitchen
• Assisting with kitchen clean-up
• Following company policies, procedures, and recipes

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• The flexibility to work weekends and holidays
• Availability to work varying days and hours between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• The ability to obtain clearance approval to enter the facility

Experience is a Plus - But Not Required!

Previous food service or kitchen experience is preferred, but we believe the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
