Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services is hiring a part-time Lead Cook for Cheboygan County Jail in Cheboygan, MI. You will lead kitchen operations, supervise inmates, and ensure meals meet recipes and safety standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, reliability, and the ability to work in a structured correctional setting. Weekend/holiday availability is required and training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a structured correctional environment.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Flexible hours between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM and able to obtain facility clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to recipes and standards.
• Assist with food prep, baking, and cooking while overseeing inmates.
• Lead and support kitchen operations during shifts.
• Train, instruct, and assist team members as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
