Job summary
GE Gas Power is seeking a Lead Controls Field Engineer to oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of controls systems across turbines and related equipment in the field.
The role requires frequent travel (75%+), offshore exposure, and strong knowledge of Mark V/VI/VIe controls, PLCs, and HMI solutions. You will coordinate with customers and project managers to meet contractual requirements while ensuring safety and quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Extensive GE Controls experience (Mark V/VI/VIe).
- Strong knowledge of turbines, generators, control panels, PLCs, and field instrumentation.
- Ability to read P&ID and wiring diagrams; hands-on with field tools.
- Fluent English and Arabic; valid driver’s license and passport; willingness to travel 75%+.
Responsibilities
- On-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of controls systems (Mark V/VI/VIe).
- Provide technical direction and support for OEM packaged products.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose plant control systems and document field services.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise field resources; ensure safety and compliance.
- Prepare Field Service Reports and maintain timesheets; travel offshore as needed.
