Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Controls Lead Field Engineer to install, commission, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software across the GE Software & Controls Solutions portfolio, with international customers in Oil & Gas and Power Generation.

Based anywhere in Australia, the role requires hands-on field work, leadership of subcontractors, and strong knowledge of control systems. Travel domestically and globally is expected, along with documentation and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 4- or 5-year degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/IT Engineering or technical high school.
• Experience in Oil & Gas and Power Plant industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission hardware and software in Oil & Gas and Power Generation sectors.
• Troubleshoot on-site installations.
• Prepare field services jobs with project managers.
• Attend pre-outages meetings with customers.
• Provide on-site technical assistance and training.
• Supervise subcontractors and de-install/reinstall wiring.
• Lead loop checks, commissioning, and start-up tests.
• Support sales during quotation and identify change orders.
• Maintain timesheets and write post-job reports.
• Ensure safety and maintain equipment knowledge.
• Communicate professionally with customers and team.
