Job summary

Grunley Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on a Virginia project. You will supervise Grunley employees, coordinate with subcontractors, and help develop the project schedule to keep work on track.

Focus on safety, quality, and timely reporting, with direct reports to the Director of Field Operations. You must have a HS Diploma or GED and at least five years of construction leadership experience, OSHA 10, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership skills with 5+ years of construction experience.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders including owners and tenants.
• Ability to learn new technical and non-technical information quickly and apply it in the field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Grunley field employees and coordinate with foremen and subcontractors.
• Direct subcontractor foremen and coordinate trades on the project site.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the project baseline schedule with look-ahead planning.
• Monitor inspections and implement the Quality Control Program.
• Order and manage temporary construction materials and equipment needs.
• Lead safety initiatives including weekly toolbox talks and MSDs compliance.
• Maintain field office operations: daily reports, time sheets, POs, logs.
• Maintain and post drawings; provide on-the-job training for junior staff.
