Job summary

Grunley Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to lead the construction site operations, supervise Grunley employees and coordinate with subcontractors.

The role oversees scheduling, safety, quality control, field office activities, and overall site morale on high-profile projects. The candidate will report to the Director of Field Operations and work under the Senior Project Manager/Project Executive.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership skills with a minimum of five (5) years of construction experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with owners, representatives and tenants.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Grunley employees and coordinate foremen, field engineers and assistants with Labor Manager.
• Coordinate all subcontractor activities and direct subcontractor foremen accordingly.
• Assist in developing baseline project schedule and keep the project on schedule; prepare two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor site inspections and ensure quality control; implement the Quality Control Program.
• Determine need for temporary construction materials; take-off, order, and manage purchases.
• Manage equipment needs and rental pricing; coordinate with office on rentals and terminations.
• Conduct weekly safety toolbox talks; ensure MSDS system is in place.
• Maintain field office operations: daily reports, time sheets, purchase orders, PO log.
• Maintain and post drawings; support training and on-the-job development for field staff.
• Attend Grunley training and contribute as an instructor in continuing education programs.
