Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Naperville, IL seeks a Construction Quality Manager II to lead the quality control program on large, multi-phase projects in heavy civil, industrial or federal work under USACE/NAVFAC rules. You will write the project QC plan and supervise field inspectors and technicians who report to you.

You will conduct three-phase control meetings, interface with the owner's QA representative, manage NCRs and corrective actions, coordinate lab testing, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection.
• Experience supervising inspectors for 2+ years.
• Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, DOT or industrial owner quality programs.
• Clear written and verbal communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians.
• Assign daily coverage and review their reports.
• Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
