Job summary

HFS Company seeks a Lead Construction Manager for Kerrville VAMC to guide EHRM infrastructure upgrades from pre-construction through close-out. You will serve as the primary point of contact with COR and manage contractor work on-site, ensuring schedules, safety, and quality standards are met.

You will coordinate with VA, A/E teams, and contractors, oversee daily progress, track costs, and support testing, commissioning, and close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or construction related field.
• 3+ years of relevant construction management experience (10 years may substitute for the degree).
• Healthcare construction experience preferred with working knowledge of building codes and safety standards (Joint Commission, OSHA).
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts and lead client briefings.

Responsibilities

• Lead contractor coordination with COR and Contracting Officer; supervise work and report team hours.
• Oversee pre-construction planning; ensure personnel are badged, cleared for site access, and safety documentation is up to date.
• Coordinate daily oversight meetings with VA, EHRM stakeholders, A/E team, general contractor, and testing/commissioning personnel.
