Job summary

Amentum seeks a senior Configuration Manager to own CM across multiple environments and ensure baseline integrity. You will manage asset inventories, change control, and documentation while coordinating with engineering, security, and operations teams.

This role requires active TS/SCI clearance and an on-site presence in a government-focused program. Applicants should have 5+ years in CM/IT operations, experience with CM tools (Jira/Confluence/ServiceNow), and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Configuration Management, Asset Management, IT Operations, Systems Engineering support, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience maintaining hardware and software inventories in a controlled enterprise or government environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing baseline configurations, change requests, and configuration documentation.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar workflow and documentation management platforms.
• Working knowledge of configuration management principles, configuration status accounting, change control processes, and lifecycle management practices.
• Experience supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), audits, or compliance activities.
• Experience supporting hardware and software asset management within a network, systems, or enterprise IT environment.
• Experience coordinating activities among engineering, operations, security, and program management stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed records.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Own configuration management processes, baseline integrity, asset accountability, and change control activities across multiple environments.
• Coordinate, track, and document hardware, software, and infrastructure configuration changes.
• Administer configuration records, asset inventories, and baseline documentation for audit readiness.
• Utilize Jira, Confluence, and other CM tools to log, track, and report changes and approvals.
• Support Configuration Control Boards by preparing documentation and tracking actions.
• Maintain inventories of government and company-owned assets, including licenses and documentation.
• Provide lifecycle visibility from procurement through deployment, sustainment, refresh, and disposition.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Engineering, Security, and Operations on lifecycle planning and procurement.
• Assist with procurement tracking and lifecycle replacement schedules.
• Conduct configuration audits and reviews to verify standards and policies.
• Generate configuration status accounting reports for leadership.
• Support audits with CM documentation and evidence of compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve CM processes, workflows, and tool usage.
