Job Description:

HTC Commercial Flooring is seeking a Lead Commercial Flooring Estimator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately interpreting project drawings and material requirements for commercial floor covering projects. The role includes managing a team of estimators and collaborating with the Operation Officer, Estimation team, Project Manager, and Installation team.

Qualifications:

• Advanced understanding of the construction industry and interpretation of specifications is critical.
• College Degree recommended.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong team player.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret project drawings and determine material needs for commercial flooring projects.
• Collaborate with the operations office, project managers, and installation team.
• Pay close attention to detail and work efficiently under strict deadlines to produce accurate estimates.
• Understand various flooring products such as carpet, vinyl, ceramic, and LVT, including their applications.
• Obtain electronic plans from customers, contractors, and plan providers.
• Review specifications to understand the scope of work.
• Perform take-offs using measurement tools and determine quantities of materials required.
• Identify omissions and inaccuracies in plans.
• Research material requirements, including finish goods, trims, accessories, and installation methods.
• Provide seam diagrams and coded drawings; gather and interpret related information to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.
• Maintain estimating files, bid documents, and plans.
• Input quantities into estimating software to accurately estimate project costs.
• Manage multiple projects and estimates, demonstrating high organization levels to meet deadlines.
• Prepare shop drawings as directed by specifications and operations.
• Initiate RFIs by the specified deadline.
• Work collaboratively internally and with customers to fulfill organizational goals.
• Perform other duties as required.
