Full time – Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00, with midweek and weekend overtime available

About the role:

We’re seeking an experienced Lead Monitoring Surveyor/Engineer nationwide. This role is ideal for individuals with at least 3 years of experience in surveying, engineering, or monitoring. As a Lead Monitoring Engineer/Surveyor, you will oversee and deliver structural and geotechnical monitoring activities using specialist technology and software.

You will manage on-site projects, lead data analysis and reporting, and mentor junior team members. This leadership position offers the chance to influence technical delivery and contribute to the success of our rail sector operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the delivery of monitoring projects, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
  2. Conduct and manage structural and environmental monitoring with specialist equipment and software.
  3. Oversee geotechnical monitoring, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  4. Analyze complex data sets and produce reports for stakeholders.
  5. Mentor and support junior engineers and surveyors.
  6. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  7. Maintain safety and quality standards according to industry regulations.
  8. Support business needs through travel and on-site presence nationwide.

Requirements:
  • Several years’ experience in engineering, surveying, or monitoring within rail or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of monitoring equipment, data processing, and geotechnical principles.
  • Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience leading site teams or managing monitoring projects.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-standard software.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away as required.
  • Right to work in the UK.
