eX2 Technology is seeking a Project Estimator with experience in telecommunications, utility construction or related industries to join our team. As a Project Estimator, you will develop cost estimates and project schedules in response to requests for proposals, quotes or bids. You will communicate with personnel, contractual professionals and vendors to develop pricing and schedules for upcoming projects.
We seek someone willing to work closely with the sales staff, business development staff, engineering, proposal development, field operations and other individuals within the company. Education
A bachelor’s degree and experience in the telecommunications, construction management or fiber-optic network industry is preferred, but not required.
Experience
3+ years construction or project estimating experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Knowledge of telecommunications outside (aerial & underground) and inside plant infrastructure design is highly desired. Other utility, ITS or engineering project experience will be considered.
Must have demonstrated excellent people skills, and willingness to work as a team.
Must have demonstrated excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
Must have demonstrated excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft office products, specifically Excel, Word and Project.
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The incumbent is occasionally required to walk or stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent will work in a semi-quiet office environment and on customer sites, where there is moderate to occasional great noise levels.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and other documents. Communicates effectively in oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
