Job summary

gpac seeks an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead diverse projects from preconstruction through closeout in the Kansas City area. You will supervise budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client expectations while ensuring quality and compliance on ground-up, restoration, and public works projects.

The role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often across federal and state-funded programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Experience with general contracting and commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and forecasts.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and field personnel.
• Review contracts, plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements.
• Manage project buyout, procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications.
• Monitor project costs and profitability while identifying potential budget issues.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients and project stakeholders.
• Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Manage restoration and renovation projects while minimizing disruption to occupied facilities when applicable.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements on public and government projects.
• Identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, and scheduling challenges.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular updates to company leadership.
• Build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
• Oversee project closeout, punch lists, warranty requirements, and final documentation.
