Job summary

gpac is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager in Kansas City to lead large-scale commercial and industrial projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, procurement, and safety while guiding multidisciplinary teams and fostering strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial or industrial mechanical construction project management experience.
• Proven success managing large HVAC, plumbing, piping, or process mechanical projects.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, forecasting, and cost control.
• Experience with preconstruction activities, project planning, and estimating reviews.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control, profitability, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and resource plans.
• Oversee subcontractor, vendor, and procurement activities.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, contract administration, and pay applications.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with estimating, engineering, VDC/BIM, fabrication, and field operations teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field personnel.
• Support business development efforts, project pursuits, and client relationship management.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
