Job summary

Emerson Health is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for the Pre-Surgical Testing Department. This role reports to the Nurse Practitioner Lead and Perioperative Nurse Manager and oversees core coordinator duties.

You will coordinate workflow, manage staff coverage, and schedule Pre-Surgical Testing appointments while supporting training and onboarding for new coordinators. Ensuring documentation completeness and interdepartmental communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in healthcare, business administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare, medical office, ambulatory care, surgical services, or hospital experience required.
• Previous experience as a trainer, preceptor, lead, resource staff member, or in an informal leadership role is preferred.

Responsibilities

Hours: 5a-1:30p; 6a-2:30p;7-3:30p;8-4:30

About This Role

Job Summary: Reports directly to the Nurse Practitioner Lead and Perioperative Nurse Manager. Responsible for performing all core Clinical Coordinator functions while serving as the lead resource for Clinical Coordinators within the Pre-Surgical Testing Department. Assures daily operational requirements are met, coordinates workflow and staff coverage, schedules Pre-Surgical Testing appointments, supports training and onboarding of new Clinical Coordinators, monitors the completeness of pre-operative documentation, and facilitates communication among providers, patients, surgical offices, and hospital departments. Serves as a liaison between frontline staff and departmental leadership to promote efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient service.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associate Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare, medical office, ambulatory care, surgical services, or hospital experience required.

Previous Experience In Pre-Surgical Testing Strongly Preferred

Previous experience serving as a trainer, preceptor, lead, resource staff member, or in an informal leadership role preferred.

Licensure and/or Certification: None required.
