Job summary

Target Hospitality is seeking a Head Chef to lead our lodge kitchen and supervise staff. You will ensure timely meal production, inventory control, and safety compliance in a remote lodge environment.

You will guide culinary operations, manage schedules, and partner with the Chef on menu planning. A minimum of 3+ years in hospitality cooking, English communication skills, and strong leadership are required. Rotation work and long shifts are common.

Qualifications

• 3+ years culinary experience in remote camp or hospitality settings.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and spoken.
• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Valid food safety certification is an asset; first aid is an asset.
• Must pass background check and urinalysis; own transportation required.
• Willingness to travel and work long rotations away from home.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure proper meal production.
• Coordinate meal preparation, inventory, and daily safety meetings.
• Provide culinary guidance and enforce HACCP standards.
• Define work schedules and responsibilities for direct reports.
• Meet with Chef daily to discuss menu and production strategy.
• Operate kitchen equipment (grills, mixers, kettles, ovens).
• Maintain two-week stock minimum and manage FIFO storage.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in emergency procedures.
• Ensure quality and timely service of all meals.
