Job summary

Lowe's Companies, Inc. in Illinois is hiring for a cashier/retail associate role focused on delivering Smart customer service and helping customers locate, demonstrate, and load merchandise.

The position requires strong communication, basic computer/retail tech skills, and prior cashier experience. You will work with a team, assist in line coverage, and support store operations with safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand his/her needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by taking them to areas of the store and walking them through projects when necessary
• Communicates information to customers regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs
• Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in the various departmental duties or sales opportunities
