Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.
• Proficient use of computer and common retail technology.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through areas of the store.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information.
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds per guidelines.
• Manages monetary change for register activities.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise.
• Assists with checkout coverage and opens additional registers when needed.
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and ensures equipment is functional.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, signs loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and price matches with competitors.
• Records store items used on the store use lists.
• Performs cash counting and daily reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates triggering alarms.
• Detects signs of shoplifting or security risks and reports to management.
• Ensures housekeeping standards and Zone Recovery for cleanliness and organization.
• Maintains a safe work environment with daily safety checks.
• Adheres to safety requirements for stock and equipment.
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, scanners, copiers, CCTV, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
