Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 year experience using a computer.
• Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
• 1 year retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service by following Lowe's policies and programs.
• Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Answer customer and employee questions knowledgeably and promptly.
• Communicate information about stock, special order merchandise, and warranty information.
• Coaching and training associates in department duties and sales opportunities.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using the register.
• Ensure proper money handling and balance drawers.
• Bag merchandise and remove security tags as needed.
• Prepare register area and load tickets for orders.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages.
• Look up product information and price match against competitors.
• Maintain store use lists and perform daily reconciliation tasks.
• Monitor store entrances and exits for security and alarms.
• Support safety and housekeeping standards.
• Operate store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, copiers, CCTV, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
