Job summary

Lowe's Home Centers, LLC is seeking a store associate to deliver exceptional customer service, assist customers with locating and loading merchandise, and operate the cash register for sales and returns. The role includes engaging customers, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting orderly checkout operations.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, retail cashier experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through store areas
• Communicates information regarding stock, special orders, features, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs
• Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in department duties or sales opportunities
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
• Provides proper monetary change to Front End associates
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
• Assists in line vesting to speed checkout and opens additional registers when needed
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and stocks supplies
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints tickets, verifies receipts, signs loading tickets
• Looks up product information and price matches
• Records items used in store on use lists
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates who trigger alarms
• Detects shoplifting or security risks and reports them
• Maintains housekeeping standards and safety
• Follows safety requirements and uses equipment as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
