Job summary

Eleven Western Builders in California is seeking a Foreman Carpenter to lead carpentry crews on retail construction projects from start to finish. You will supervise daily activities, plan work sequences, read plans, perform layouts, and ensure quality and safety on site.

The role requires 7+ years of commercial carpentry, 3+ years leading crews, and experience with tenant improvements, remodels, and millwork. Travel and overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial carpentry experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading crews or as Foreman.
• Experience with retail, commercial, tenant improvement, or remodel construction.
• Strong skills in framing, drywall, finish carpentry, fixture installation, and millwork.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Proven ability to lead teams while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades in active construction environments.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel and stay overnight as project schedules require.
• Commitment to safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of carpenters and assistant carpenters.
• Plan work activities and sequence tasks to maintain production goals.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules.
• Perform layout and ensure installations meet project requirements.
• Monitor workmanship and maintain high quality standards.
• Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, vendors, and store personnel.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain a safe jobsite.
• Forecast material needs and communicate potential issues before they impact the schedule.
• Train and mentor less experienced team members.
• Help deliver projects on time and to customer expectations.
