Job summary

Eleven Western Builders, a long-standing California retailer contractor, seeks a Foreman Carpenter to lead carpentry crews on retail construction projects. You will take ownership of tasks, solve field issues, and keep teams productive and safe while delivering high-quality workmanship.

You will coordinate with management, trades, vendors, and store personnel, plan activities, read plans, and mentor junior carpenters to ensure on-time delivery across multiple tenant improvement projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial carpentry experience.
• 3+ years leading crews or as Foreman/Lead Carpenter.
• Experience with retail, commercial, tenant improvement, or remodel construction.
• Strong skills in framing, drywall, finish carpentry, fixture installation, and millwork.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Proven ability to lead teams while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades in active construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead carpentry crews and execute retail construction projects from start to finish.
• Plan work activities and sequence tasks to meet production goals.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Perform layout and ensure installations meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, vendors, and store personnel.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain a safe jobsite.
• Forecast material needs and address issues before they impact the schedule.
• Mentor less experienced team members and deliver projects on time.
