Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking an experienced Carpenter in El Paso to build and repair building frameworks, stairways, doorframes, and related structures. You will read blueprints, use power and hand tools, and lead on-site tasks while upholding safety standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years as a carpenter, and a valid driver’s license. OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid are preferred. The role offers full-time hours with comprehensive benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Carpenter.
• OSHA 10 Certification, preferred.
• CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• In depth carpentry knowledge.
• Experience using and maintaining power tools and small hand tools.
• Must be able to take initiative and ask questions.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Workers must provide their own safety footwear.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and stakeholders.
• Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
• Reliable transportation and consistent work attendance.
• Experience in construction layout, blueprint reading and shop drawing reading, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist with the assembly and removal of forms used for concrete installation.
• Use power tools and small hand tools to support various worksite projects.
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to understand requirements and assign teams.
• Manage materials: inventory, distribution, placement.
• Monitor project performance and report updates to management.
• Coordinate with other trade foremen and superintendents as needed.
• Promote a safe work environment and secure the jobsite daily.
• Maintain safety by communicating hazards.
• Ensure site materials are properly stored after each day.
