Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Carpenter to construct and repair building frameworks and onsite structures. You will assist with forms, framing, and millwork, reading blueprints and ensuring accurate material layout.

A valid driver's license and safety certifications are required, with a strong emphasis on safety, detail, and reliability. The role is labor-intensive and safety-sensitive, offering opportunities to develop hands-on skills and contribute to landmark projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program.
• Must be able to take initiative and ask questions.
• Possess a keen attention to detail and be able to follow instructions.
• Workers must provide their own safety footwear.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and stakeholders.
• Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Preferred Qualifications: OSHA 10 Certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: CPR & First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assembly and removal of concrete forms used for concrete installation.
• Build and install window-frames, doors, doorframes, staircases, partitions, millwork, trim, siding, drywall, and overall building frames.
• Ensure that layout of flooring, roofing, and drywall are leveled and compatible.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp project requirements.
• Measure and calculate the size and amount of material needed. Help with cutting, shaping, and fitting materials.
• Load, unload, identify and distribute building materials, machinery, and tools.
• Job shadow in area assignments to ensure project knowledge and skill progression.
• Assist with area housekeeping and safety.
• Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards.
