Job summary

Wolfoods seeks an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at a rural US summer camp. You will oversee all prep and production for a designated day part, lead staff, and ensure strict allergen safety in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.

The position is on-site, live-in, seasonal (May–Sept) with a demanding 6/70+ hour week, and offers competitive pay, bonus, room & board, and travel allowance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch baking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date; company-sponsored.
• Strong leadership, scratch baking, ability to navigate iPad, versatility with ingredients, and sharp problem-solving abilities.
• Stand for extended periods, work in hot/cold kitchen settings, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Live on-site in a rustic setting, 6-day/70-hour week, thrive under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Oversee operational flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking execution, and timely meal service.
• Strict allergen safety compliance and top Health Department sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
