Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer for a commercial facility in Herndon, VA. You will oversee the operation and maintenance of MEP systems, supervise staff when needed, and ensure reliability and safety of equipment.

You must have 5+ years of related trade experience, suitable licenses, and a proven ability to plan preventive maintenance, coordinate with contractors, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; apprentice/trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating MEP systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with or conduct daily operations and maintenance of MEP systems.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and monitor activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and inspections per equipment manufacturers.
• Recommend improvements to preventive maintenance program.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors and technicians.
