Qualifications

• Education and experience: High school diploma and four years of full-time experience in receiving plans, collecting fees, and supporting building permits; college training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a work unit handling building permits and related tasks.
• Provide input on personnel actions and evaluations; coach staff as required.
• Offer information on permitting processes to developers, contractors, and the public.
• Receive plans, perform preliminary reviews, and coordinate plan review with other departments.
• Ensure required permits and documentation are obtained prior to issuance of permits.
• Operate databases and reports related to plan submittals and tracking.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; 4 years permit experience

College-level training in pre-engineering or construction technology desirable
