Job summary

The Liberty County Board of Commissioners seeks a full-time Permit Technician to support the Building & Licensing team. You will greet visitors, assist with permit and license applications, and help maintain organized records.

This role processes data in the permit system, issues permits after approval, and coordinates with inspectors. Hours typical 8–5; benefits included. Associates degree preferred and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred.
• Minimum one year of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer phones; route calls.
• Assist customers with permit/license applications and paperwork.
• Enter data into permit system; issue permits after Director approval.
• Create and maintain permanent permit files and records.
• Coordinate with inspectors, contractors, and utility providers; communicate address updates to 911."
• Prepare letters to property owners about nuisances and site development.
