Job summary

Clark County Development Engineering is seeking a customer-focused professional to serve as the main contact for development inspections, pre-construction meetings, and related technical services. The role involves handling public inquiries via phone, email, mail and walk-ins, preparing approval letters, and coordinating with multiple departments within the Clark County Permit Center.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of paraprofessional civil engineering experience, strong communication

Qualifications

• Two years paraprofessional experience in civil engineering, planning or related field or combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the work.
• Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Strong computer skills in Office 365.
• Experience working in GIS and/or permitting systems.
• Knowledge of land use and stormwater.
• Ability to interpret legal documents such as zoning codes, ordinances, resolutions, and legal descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Receives site plans for review and coordinates inter-agency review and application of zoning and plat regulations.
• Reviews and analyzes legal descriptions and documents to determine legal lot status and certify complete land use applications.
• Collects data from primary and secondary sources in the field and in the office.
• Assists the public with information on platting and zoning matters.
• Conducts other review analyses on zoning and platting as requested by planners or supervisors.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
