Job summary

CBRE seeks an Asst Chief Building Engineer to monitor complex building system operations across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related areas. You will oversee preventive maintenance, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while driving energy efficiency and system performance.

The role involves supervising staff, evaluating repairs, and leading continuous improvement within the Engineering and Technical Services function at CBRE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Universal CFC certification required.
• Additional certification in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair.

Responsibilities

• Assign work orders and estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs; maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems; keep building systems up to standards.
• Comply with codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Develop an energy management program; ensure systems operate efficiently.
