Job summary

KW Property Management in Tampa, FL is seeking a seasoned Chief Engineer to lead daily building maintenance, supervise staff and coordinate outside vendors to keep mechanical, electrical and common-area systems in optimal condition. The role demands strong leadership, practical trades knowledge (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry), excellent customer service, and the ability to respond to emergencies within 2 hours.

It is a full-time, exempt position with on-site requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; AA degree preferred.
• 3–5 years supervisory maintenance experience in hi-rise or hotel operations.
• Strong trades knowledge: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and painting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.
• Ability to react to emergencies within 2 hours.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day routine maintenance with maintenance staff in a leadership role.
• Develops and adheres to preventative maintenance program.
• Supervise repairs by outside vendors; report outcomes.
• Maintain an environment to ensure resident service.
• Monitor building systems and perform basic repairs.
• Organize time across multiple projects.
• Create maintenance reports with progress and recommendations.
• Observe safety standards and maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist the Property Manager with interviewing, training, scheduling.
