Job summary

KW Property Management and Consulting is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee building maintenance, including HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems, ensuring technical competence and code compliance. The role requires strong leadership, problem solving, and robust vendor coordination.

This full-time on-site position in Boca Raton, FL involves supervising maintenance staff, developing preventive maintenance programs, and maintaining safety standards while ensuring resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be HVAC Certified and/or have a comparable technical school certification.
• Must have strong working knowledge of basic trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting).
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Ability to react and address emergencies promptly (typical within 2 hours).

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day routine maintenance of the building in a leadership role with maintenance staff.
• Develops and adheres to the preventative maintenance program for the community.
• Supervise all building repairs performed by outside vendors and report to the Association Manager.
• Maintain an operating environment that achieves resident satisfaction through feedback and surveys.
• Monitor all building systems and perform basic repairs as needed.
• Demonstrate adaptability to changing circumstances and timelines.
• Respond to phone calls and correspondence in a timely, professional manner.
• Encourage maintenance staff to be professional and compliant with safety standards; motivate teamwork.
• Create maintenance reports with progress and recommended actions.
• Observe safety standards and support a safe work environment.
• Follow directions from supervisor and complete tasks conscientiously.
• Organize time effectively and balance multiple projects.
• Maintain equipment maintenance logs and update the preventive maintenance manual quarterly.
