Job summary

KW Property Management and Consulting seeks a Chief Engineer in Fort Lauderdale to oversee building maintenance, interior and exterior systems, and ensure compliance with codes. The role requires HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical knowledge, with leadership of maintenance staff and coordination with the Association Manager.

The candidate will develop preventive maintenance, supervise external vendors, monitor systems, respond to emergencies promptly, and maintain a safe, professional property

Qualifications

• HVAC certified or equivalent technical training.
• Experience supervising maintenance in hi-rise buildings (3–5 years).
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and painting principles.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day routine maintenance with maintenance staff in a leadership role.
• Develops and adheres to the preventative maintenance program for the community.
• Supervise all building repairs done by outside vendors, reporting to the Association Manager on completion.
• Maintain an operating environment to achieve resident satisfaction per feedback and surveys.
• Monitor all building systems and perform basic repairs as needed.
• Respond to emergency situations within 2 hours and during events as required.
• Encourage staff to meet safety standards and work as a team.
• Create maintenance reports with property condition updates and project progress.
