Job summary

National Development is seeking a Lead Building Engineer for the Westwood/Wellesley, MA area. You will report to the Chief Engineer and support a portfolio of office and retail spaces in the MetroWest region, performing general maintenance and coordinating with vendors across multiple sites.

The role requires travel between assets, reliable transportation, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service. A background in HVAC and building systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be skilled in all areas of general maintenance and HVAC, with experience in building systems.
• Experience in commercial property management is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Engineer with maintenance duties for the portfolio.
• Conduct site, building, and mechanical room inspections for safety and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues and provide effective solutions.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and track work orders.
