Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to guide the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems with minimal supervision. On-site presence is required.

You will supervise a team, manage preventive maintenance, handle work orders in CMMS, train staff, assist during on-call emergencies, and ensure safety procedures are followed. Prior experience in building systems and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Leadership/supervisory experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with ladders up to 30 feet tall.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts.
• Plumbing and HVAC system maintenance.
• Water treatment and locksmith work; general maintenance.
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain CMMS work order system daily and complete tenant service requests.
• Provide training and supervision to expand Engineering team capabilities.
• Support on-call or emergency response situations.
