Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controls Technician – Building Automation in Charlotte, North Carolina to install, program, and commission BAS/DDC systems for new construction and retrofit projects.

You will troubleshoot, service, and optimize control sequences, develop programs and graphics, and maintain accurate as-built records while coordinating with subcontractors and internal teams. A strong customer-facing demeanor is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience working with BAS / HVAC controls systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment and control sequences.
• Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara (N4/AX), Distech, or similar.
• Ability to troubleshoot, program, and commission DDC systems.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and in the field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and commission BAS/DDC systems for new construction and retrofit projects.
• Troubleshoot and service control systems at customer sites.
• Verify system performance and ensure sequences meet project specifications.
• Develop and implement control programs, databases, and graphics.
• Complete commissioning documentation and maintain accurate as-built records.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to support project execution.
• Provide technical support, training, and follow-up for end users.
• Assist HVAC technicians with controls-related issues in the field.
• Mentor junior technicians and contribute to team development.
• Identify service opportunities and support ongoing customer relationships.
