Job summary

Jobot in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Building Automation Project Manager to lead commercial BAS projects from kickoff to closeout. You will balance controls engineering with customer relationships, coordinating engineering, programming, field installation, startup, and commissioning to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires 5+ years in BAS/HVAC, strong knowledge of open protocols, and the ability to read complex drawings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or DDC systems.
• Project management or project engineering experience within BAS.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment (AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, pumps).
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and other open protocols.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple BAS projects through all phases of execution.
• Serve as primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate engineering, programming, field installation, startup, commissioning, and closeout activities.
• Review project drawings, sequences of operation, and equipment specifications.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasts, and procurement timelines.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal resources to keep projects moving.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates on schedule, financials, and status.
• Support field teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.
• Ensure projects meet quality standards while maintaining customer relationships.
