Job summary

Turner & Townsend Heery in California is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead the design review, construction oversight, and technical decisions for complex bridge projects, including the California High-Speed Rail program.

The position requires extensive bridge/structural experience, ability to coordinate with consultants, construction managers, regulators, and contractors, and a California PE license. This is a senior, on-site role based in California.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and 8+ years in bridge/structural/transportation engineering.
Current California PE license or eligible within six months of hire.
Experience with design, construction, inspection of bridges or other complex transportation structures.
Strong knowledge of AREMA, AASHTO LRFD, Caltrans CBC and related standards.

Responsibilities

Provide senior-level oversight for design, construction, inspection, testing and acceptance of bridges and related structures.
Lead technical reviews of design plans, calculations, RFIs, submittals and construction work plans.
Perform complex structural analyses for concrete, steel, foundations, seismic systems and bearings.
Mentor staff and coordinate with Engineers of Record, contractors, regulators and stakeholders.
Support resolution of design changes, field conditions and construction sequencing.
