Job summary

HDR is seeking a Bridge Engineer in California to apply structural engineering and detailing techniques on highway and rail projects, including steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, segmental bridges, and box culverts.

You will use LEAP, AASHTOWare BrR, MDX, SAP2000, and Civil/OpenBridge tools, supervise junior staff, and ensure accurate designs and quantities. HDR values ownership and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; master's preferred.
• Professional Engineer license is required or recognized by the local board.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in bridge design.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques.
• Work on bridge and interchange design projects for highways and rail.
• Review and supervise junior engineers and EITs; perform load calculations.
• Develop structural details using design software and prepare quantities.
