Job summary

Endeavor Health in the Chicago area is seeking a Supervisor, Biomedical Equipment Technician to lead a team of CE technicians at Swedish Hospital and Skokie Hospital. You will oversee daily operations, allocate resources, and guide staff in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic device maintenance.

The role emphasizes coaching, compliance with standards, and proactive process improvements across clinical engineering services. A strong background in biomedical tech and team leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent military training in biomedical/electronics tech.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CBET preferred.
• Typically 5 years’ experience maintaining/repairing biomedical equipment.
• OEM training on ventilators, monitoring systems or surgical devices.
• Proficient with Office tools; capable of planning maintenance and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of Biomedical Equipment Technicians.
• Plan maintenance schedules and assign work orders based on priorities.
• Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate non-imaging medical devices.
• Serve as escalation resource for complex issues.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Lead safety rounds, meetings, and service recovery efforts.
• mentor technicians and interns; develop technical skills.
• Support refurbishment, relocation and equipment-modification projects.
• Identify equipment replacement needs and collaborate with manufacturers.
