Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a senior BMET to inspect, calibrate, test, and repair advanced biomedical electronic equipment across clinical and research settings. You will perform maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires a 5–7 year track record in Biomedical Engineering Technology, an Associate’s degree, and leadership abilities to mentor other BMETs while maintaining meticulous documentation and high-quality testing procedures.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering required.
  • 5–7 years of biomedical engineering technology experience.
  • Strong ability to interpret circuit diagrams and schematics.
  • Leadership and clear communication to guide peers.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance inspections and performance assurance inspections on specialized electronic equipment to ensure safe and effective operating conditions.
  • Test and calibrate components using a variety of manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and code requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
  • Repair and replace complex biomedical electronic equipment and systems.
  • Install and adjust a variety of electronic biomedical and research equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions with accuracy and precision.
  • Function as the senior technologist to provide guidance and mentorship to other BMETs.
