Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to install, calibrate, repair, and test medical devices. This onsite role involves preventive maintenance, device evaluations, and collaboration with clinical teams.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, documenting inspections and repairs, and ensuring safety and reliability of equipment. 40 hours weekly at 45 Fruit Street with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as a biomedical technician; 1–2 years preferred.
• Familiar with electrical and mechanical biomedical safety principles.
• Ability to use computer-based tools and diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Inspects newly acquired medical devices and assigns control numbers and labels.
• Performs performance assurance and electrical safety testing; preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoots and resolves device problems in clinical or research areas.
• Repairs devices to board or component level using test instrumentation or diagnostics.
• Assists in device evaluations, installations, and software revisions.
• Performs routine rounds to assess device operation in clinical areas.
• Instructs staff on testing, calibration, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs.
• Documents inspections, repairs, maintenance procedures, and teaching activities.
