Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s The General Hospital Corporation is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to serve as the primary repair resource at the biomedical service location and to mentor technicians to elevate competency and productivity. You will participate in growth initiatives and excellence in equipment reliability.

The role requires 5–7 years in Biomedical Equipment Technology, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work in a hybrid environment at our Boston area site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Biomedical Technology preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in Biomedical Equipment Technology.
• Ability to mentor technicians and lead scheduling/technical operations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for leadership.
• Experience with advanced testing and troubleshooting of medical devices with specialized tools.

Responsibilities

• Leads, instructs, and assists technicians on basic and complex repairs/resolution.
• Responds to equipment problems in clinical or research areas; evaluate, troubleshoot and correct problems up to complex cases.
• Determines need and implements removal and replacement of malfunctioning devices.
• Uses data indicators to schedule workload, preventive maintenance, and identify system trends.
• Performs repairs and calibrations on equipment and clinical devices.
• Performs preventative maintenance and electrical safety inspections of clinical equipment and systems.
• Installs and updates medical devices including software revisions when required.
• Acts as first line resource for technician team members and assists with complex problems.
• Performs repairs and calibrations with high degree of complexity or requiring expert diagnostics.
