Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Associate Biologist to join our Southern California Ecosystems Group. The role involves leading field teams, conducting species surveys, and preparing technical reports for CEQA/NEPA.

You will work across environments, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with regulatory agencies and clients on permitting strategies. Occasional travel within southern California is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of biological resources survey experience and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead field teams on multi-disciplinary environmental projects.
• Conduct surveys (special-status species, nesting birds, vegetation assessments).
• Prepare and review technical reports for CEQA/NEPA and permitting.
• Contribute to proposals and scope development for new work.
• Coordinate with regulators and clients on survey results and permitting strategies.
