Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Associate Biologist to join the Southern California Ecosystems Group, working from one of several southern CA offices (Los Angeles, Monrovia, etc.). The role blends field and office work, leading multi-disciplinary teams on diverse projects including renewable energy and transportation, with opportunities for professional growth and regulatory coordination.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Natural Resources Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ related experience in biological resources surveys and technical reports.
Demonstrated ability to lead field teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor field teams on multi-disciplinary projects (renewable energy, oil & gas, transportation, development).
Schedule and lead field tasks: surveys, nesting birds, vegetation mapping, waters delineations, and monitoring.
Prepare and review technical reports and project sections for CEQA/NEPA.
Contribute to proposals with scope, cost, and relevant sections.
Coordinate with regulators and clients to communicate results.
